FUR JACKET
WASHING & CARE GUIDE
Your fur jacket is a delicate garment that requires gentle care. Following these instructions will help maintain its softness, shape, colour and overall quality for as long as possible.
BEFORE CLEANING
Always check the care label inside the jacket before cleaning.
Because different fur types and constructions require different treatments, we strongly recommend professional cleaning for genuine fur.
Do not put a genuine fur jacket in a washing machine or tumble dryer unless the care label specifically states that it is safe to do so.
HOW TO CLEAN YOUR JACKET
For genuine fur:
- Do not machine wash.
- Do not soak the jacket in water.
- Do not use regular laundry detergent, bleach or fabric softener.
- Do not scrub or brush the fur aggressively.
- For deep cleaning, stains or odours, take the jacket to a professional fur cleaner.
For faux fur:
If the care label allows washing:
- Close all zippers, buttons and fastenings.
- Turn the jacket inside out.
- Wash on a cold, gentle cycle using a small amount of mild detergent.
- Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
- Use a low spin setting if available.
- Remove the jacket promptly after washing.
Always follow the specific washing instructions on the care label.
HOW TO DRY
Never wring or twist the jacket.
After washing or accidental exposure to water:
- Gently press out excess water without twisting.
- Hang the jacket on a wide, sturdy hanger.
- Allow it to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Keep it away from radiators, heaters, fireplaces and direct sunlight.
- Never use a tumble dryer unless specifically permitted by the care label.
Once completely dry, gently shake the jacket to help restore the fur's natural shape.
HOW TO REMOVE SMALL STAINS
For a small fresh spill, gently blot the area with a clean, dry cloth.
Do not rub the stain.
Avoid applying soap, alcohol, perfume, oils or household cleaning products directly to the fur.
For oil-based stains, makeup, wine or other difficult stains, we recommend professional cleaning rather than attempting to remove the stain yourself.
ODOURS & FRESHENING
If your jacket needs freshening, hang it in a cool, well-ventilated area for several hours.
Avoid spraying perfume, deodorant, fabric freshener or other products directly onto the fur.
Never use heat to remove odours or moisture.
BRUSHING & MAINTENANCE
If the care label permits brushing, use a soft fur or garment brush and brush gently in the direction of the fur.
Do not aggressively brush tangled or matted areas, as this may damage the fibres.
If the fur becomes heavily matted, we recommend having it professionally restored.
STORAGE
For the best long-term care:
- Store on a wide, padded hanger.
- Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.
- Give the jacket plenty of space in your wardrobe.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
- Do not store under heavy garments.
- Avoid airtight plastic bags for long-term storage.
For genuine fur, professional cold storage during warmer months is recommended.
IMPORTANT
Never use a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron or direct heat on genuine fur unless specifically instructed by the care label or a professional fur specialist.
When in doubt, professional cleaning is always the safest option.
TREAT IT WELL. WEAR IT FOR YEARS.
With the right care, your fur jacket can maintain its softness, shape and beautiful appearance for a long time.
